Private Day Trip to Prague from Vienna

(10 Reviews)
Duration:   13h 00 min

Overview

While in Vienna don't miss your opportunity to see Prague. The capital of the Czech Republic is famous for its unique medieval atmosphere, the amazing history and the Czech beer – the best beer in the world!

With a friendly English-speaking driver you depart from your hotel in Vienna in a private minivan. Heading north you traverse the Austrian wine region, drive past the Czech border and across Moravia and Bohemia until you reach Prague.

Upon arrival you will be joined by a local expert guide for an extensive Private Walking Tour of Prague's Old Town. First you visit the vast complex of the Prague castle. Situated atop the Hradschin hill it is the perfect place to catch a first glimpse of the city and to take amazing pictures. There you also see Prague’s impressive St. Vitus Cathedral, the coronation church of the Bohemian kings. Empress Maria-Theresa and many other members of the Habsburg dynasty were crowned there back in the day.

Strolling through Mala Strana with its great baroque palaces you reach the famous Charles Bridge – walking over the bridge is a must for every visitor! Make a wish when you touch the miraculous statue of Saint John Nepomuk! In the old town your guide will show you the astronomic clock, the old town square, the Clementinum Monastery and Wenceslas Square. If you like he will also take you to the old Jewish quarter.

After the city tour treat yourself to a delicious Czech meal (not included) in one of the city's many great restaurants.

Spend the afternoon at leisure in Prague's lively center for shopping or to further explore the city. Don’t miss the famous beerhalls and the crystal shops! In the late afternoon your driver will take you back to Vienna and to your hotel.

If you plan to stay in Prague overnight use this tour one-way. Transfer hassle-free from Vienna to your hotel in Prague (door-to-door service).

Multiple tours with Vienna a la Carte
Salzburg and Prague tours were extraordinary. The guides were informative, factual, enthusiastic, professional, and excellent drivers. Vehicles top quality, clean and comfortable. Well planned excursions with time for brief respites. I highly recommend this tour company for Vienna environs. We will be booking again in the future. Thank you for making our stay all the more enjoyable and worthwhile.

Day trip to Prague
I booked a small group tour with Vienna A la Carte and had a fabulous time! Peter, our driver, picked us up on time from our hotel bright and early. Although there were only three of us on the tour, we were picked up in a luxury bus that fit eight people! It was very spacious and there was plenty of leg room! Each seat is also equipped with an iPad which has internet access until the border of the Czech Republic. Since the drive from Vienna to Prague is a little long (approx four hours), we made a stop on the way for a quick breakfast and coffee! When we arrived in Prague, Alena, our local guide, was waiting to show us her beautiful city. The tour itself was about 2.5 hours and we were able to cover all of the cities main points. At the end of our tour, we still had about 2.5 hours to explore the city on our own. Alena recommended some of her favorite lunch spots and then we parted ways. Although one day is not enough time to fully explore Prague, this tour is a great option for people with limited time and the price is very reasonable. Both our local guide and driver were polite, pleasant, helpful, accommodating and knowledgable. Great experience. Highly recommend!

Great Experience
My wife and I along with Our friends were recently in Vienna. We booked two one day trips with Vienna a la carte. The first was to Prague. Our driver was Ben. We had so much fun with him that we requested him as our driver to Budapest later in the week. Ben was great! In both cities we were hooked up with a person who was born and raised in that city. They both had such a love, knowledge and passion for their cities. The trips were great. All for of us would recommend Vienna a la carte again. Gary Wnek
